Is my wife having an affair is a serious question that deserves serious answers.  Typical husbands think okay the honeymoon is over, we have a few kids and I bring home the bacon……LIFE IS ALL GOOD!  Well let me tell you from experience, your wife having affair can happen to the best of us.  Looking back on the past, it is easy to blame her for the affair and all the pain that was caused.  However, marriage is consummated between two people and both of us are guilty of the breakdowns.  When I take a step back here is a list of areas that I totally failed at being her husband.

1. Listening to her when she was trying to communicate from the heart
2. Actively pursuing her heart
3. Being an active listener when she was trying to connect or showing her emotional intimacy
4. Remembering the foreplay starts in the kitchen and not in the bed
5. Remembering her love language
6. Daily deposits into her love bank (ie. telling I love her, writing notes, bringing home flowers, etc.)
7. Rubbing her feet while watching TV or just giving her physical touch
8. Blowing off her exciting plans of attending a marriage retreat weekend
9. Telling how beautiful she is daily instead of asking myself is my wife having an affair
10. Taking her on random adventures like when we were dating
11. Grade school grabbing and tickling after dinner
12. Coming home from work early and surprising her
13. Holding steadfast to the weekly date night schedule
14. Enrolling in the swing dance lessons she so desperately wanted
15. Making casual time to just love on my wife
16. Putting up boundaries to protect our sacred marriage and not always helping others (neighbors) when they asked
17. Letting her know that she was my #1 priority – not work, the guys, my car or the house
18. Forgetting to show her how proud I am to be her husband
19. Rescuing her from pain of friends, others and her concerns
20. Actively trying to help her from the wounds of her mother and father during childhood

You see I obviously was not the perfect husband and I got very complacent.  I thought after six years we were good, life was good and our marriage was good.  I truly don’t know what she saw in this other man and I really don’t care (Yeah Right…I am posing her!).  With the list of items above, if I would have just done 1/3 of them I know this would have never of happened.  I only outline these items for you to do a reality check and avoid asking, “Is my wife having an affair?”.  I hope these words of wisdom will keep your wife having affair thoughts to a minimum.  Trust fellow men out there…..if you don’t do these someone else will!
